Old Chariot

Old Chariot/A Drop of Nelsons Blood is a very old shanty, with early written records from the end of the 19th century, however the text originates from around 1805 when Admiral Nelson died in battle. The myth says that to preserve him, he was put in a casket of rum – But in reality it was a mixture of brandy and other things. And so a drop of Nelsons blood is another term for rum!
