A Health to the Company is a traditional Irish song, shrouded in a bit of mystery as it’s not sure when or by who it was composed. The same tune is used for an old liberty song from 1770, and so it could be possible that this song had variations even back then. The modern version we hear today was made popular by The Chieftains. The tune has been used for many other traditional Irish songs and is also sometimes called the parting glass.

A health is an expression to wish for good health among friends before drinking.
