Translucent – Viola’s Song (11pcs)

The innkeeper sighed to herself twirling the flower in her hand, remembering the night before…

Viola had burst into the taproom, wind-swept hair beneath a wide brim hat complete with feather, smiling at the crowd before her. A flourish of her cloak revealed a tunic of bright violet and in her hands, she held a stringed instrument not much larger than a violin. Bringing it to her chin she began to play, and everyone was struck still in awe.

The music flowed from her, filling the room and their hearts. They gasped in wonder at this marvellous creature, but she had a surprise yet in store. She began to sing. The combined melody of voice and string stabbed into our very souls and not a man was left without a tear in their eyes. The song finished and she smiled at the room, who still sat still in wonder, afraid to make a sound lest their eyes be deceiving them.

Her eyes fell upon the innkeeper, and her grin became voracious.
